Gummalapuram Survey 2024

Through our “Reach the Unreached” Educational drive, every year we do surveys to categorically reach out to children who are not going to school and missing formal education. Last year, we admitted more than 45 children to Anekal school.

This time around, we have been doing surveys in the farms of Gummalapuram village to identify children who are not going to school. Within couple of weeks, we could manage to get 23 children to the Gummalapuram Panchayat school we are supporting. Transport is a big challenge in the area; many migrant labours stay in the sheds near farms which are quite interior locations. Post our discussion with farm managers, these children have started coming to school in tractor, which seems to be the best option at this point in time. The good part is that these children are excited about learning and they have been coming to school regularly for the last 10 days.

There are many farms and thousands of workers, we will continue our survey for the next few months to get more and more children to school.
