Early this week I had an opportunity to spend 3 days with our pre-school angels. One of our teachers was off sick and I decided to take the charge as I always wanted to spend some dedicated time with these kids. I understand little Kannada and kids were speaking in their mother tongue – Kannada, but we could manage to understand each other well. Language was not a barrier at all.
It was all fun and lots of learning, we did some phonics game, rhymes, stories and drawing.
I must admit that it was difficult to manage boys, their energy level was so high, I could not make them sit even for a minute. Intermittently, girls used to cry as the child sitting next would have troubled them. Initially, I tried comforting them; but eventually realized that no action is required. After few minutes they would patch up and start playing as if nothing happened.
So many things to learn from these children – forget, forgive, celebrate small achievements, find joy in simple things and be happy always; the list is never ending.
Motivational speaker Jim Rohn once said, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with”. I wish, I get to spend more time with these children, Happiness is guaranteed -:).
Feeling privileged and blissful for this wonderful experience
