Anekal – Survey & Counselling

As a part of academic year 2024-25 admission planning, Aikya team has been doing survey in many deprived and slum localities of Anekal Bangalore, to identify the children who are missing formal education. Visiting their houses and getting to know their challenging situation was an eye-opener for us. With our busy city life, we don’t even realise how much help these children and their families need.

There are many children who need support. All the stats and images are captured here – Anekal Survey

I am immensely proud of our Aikya teachers and core team, who have been relentlessly visiting many deprived localities for the last 2 months, just to ensure that we reach out to the most needy section of the society

Last Sunday, we organized a counselling session for the parents of these children and had a small celebration with children; they started enjoying the school premises and in fact, some of them have already started coming to school.

We will continue to counsel parents on importance of education and work through the challenges they are facing, wherever feasible. There are close to 100 kids who are eligible for admission, from LKG to Class 3
