Environmental Activity – GHPS Anekal

Care for Mother Earth must be an integral part of school education, ensuring that the children grow into responsible human beings and understand their role in protecting planet

Appropriate environmental education at an early age helps in developing sensitivity towards nature.

Our ‘Nature Connect’ theme (part of foundational stage pedagogy) is aimed at strengthening the bond between children and nature. This week, our children were involved in planting seeds and saplings of various vegetables and flowers, in groups. And this was not just a day activity, each group will be responsible for nurturing and maintaining their plants on a regular basis. Through this group activity, we intend to inculcate essential socio-emotional skills like compassion, sensitivity to nature, collaboration and cooperation

Children had a lot of fun with this hands-on environmental activity, which very much aligns with our objective of activity-based and experiential learning as against conventional theory-based learning.

We also aim to educate our children on broader aspects of sustainable living like reuse, recycle, up-cycle
