Aikya Trust celebrated its Foundation Day on August 1st with differently-abled children of “Shree Ramana Maharishi Academy for the Blind, Bangalore”. There are 126 children in the academy from LKG to Class 10. The academy is working on inclusion of these children into the mainstream. We decided to empower these children and support their effort in a meaningful way by giving them various learning materials.
On Aikya day, our children reiterated the message of oneness, love and compassion by making beautiful embossed greeting cards for children of Shree Ramana Maharishi academy. We requested our children to close their eyes for couple of minutes and then share their experiences on how they feel. The intent was to sensitize our children about the needs of differently-abled children and understand the importance of inclusiveness and empathy.
